Advancement and Development’s major challenges during the past three years—that is, the
aspects of Advancement and Development that are most in need of improvement
• Responsibility to build a solid marketing and government relations program
without sufficient staff and infrastructure was met with the hiring of the
Director of Communications in late 2013.
VII.
•
More energy should be put into building a base of supporters including
alumni and planned giving. The challenge now is the capacity to work with our
alumni list of 40,000 two people. Planned Giving and Alumni Relations should
be more robust to build the base of support; this can only be accomplished
with additional staff resources.
•
Strong support for implementation of Student Services Scholarship
Management System.
Brief summary of continuous quality improvement actions to be taken that will help
Advancement and Development build upon its strengths and address its challenges
The implementation of the Advancement Planning Council is an important step in
ensuring continuous quality improvement in the area of collaboration. Additionally,
Advancement and Development staff members sit on a number of the planning
councils in other areas.
