Susan suggested training with the council in the same room in case someone wants to make changes it can be done realtime. Carol Kimbrough suggested Fall for the training. Once the draft is complete, it will come to Advancement Council for suggestions and approval. 4. AP 4021 Establishing, Revitalizing or Discontinuing Academic Programs Carol Kimbrough Carol stated this has been through Academic Senate and Academic Affairs. There are a number of components in AP 4021. There needs to be a consensus model between Academic Senate and Academic Affairs Committees. If someone wants to start a new program, they would submit a request for a program evaluation committee that goes to Academic Affairs Committees. The VP of Instruction will review with the committee to verify whether or not the program will move forward. It will go to Academic Affairs and Academic Senate for buy in, board approval, etc., all the way to the Chancellor’s Office. The time frame for the program to get off the ground is at least one year depending on how much time it takes to research and develop the curriculum. The AP speaks to a step by step process in which this happens. 2 HARTNELL COLLEGE VISION STATEMENT Hartnell College will be nationally recognized for the success of our students by developing leaders who will contribute to the social, cultural, and economic vitality of our region and the global community.
