National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) is also being prepared to be submitted prior to October 8. The project proposes to train students at the certificate and associate degree level in the fields of Ag Production Food Safety and Seed Science Technician including relevant STEM core competencies that allow workers to transition across a variety of Ag and STEM careers. The request can be up to $300k per year for up to 3 years. CalFresh Employment & Training (E&T) with Monterey County Department of Social Services. The majority of Monterey County's NonAssistance CalFresh recipients are in the Hartnell district. This funding from the USDA may be integrated into existing community college programs and pooled with other funds to provide textbooks, transportation, child care, career counseling, peer advising, academic tutoring, career workshops, case management, unpaid workbased learning, job readiness-search-placement-retention, sector initiates, program administration, planning and evaluation. The county partnership would provide CalFresh eligibility/enrollment services. $150k annually in sustainable match. Monterey County Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) - working with the Monterey County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) to list Hartnell College programs and courses so that eligible customers of the America's Job Center (formerly One Stop Career Center) can utilize training and support funds from the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA). Nursing and Allied Health, Advanced Technology, Social and Behavioral Sciences and Art are areas looking at listing programs and courses. California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office - Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support Program (CAFYES) will be issuing an Application to Participate in the coming weeks. The purpose is to strengthen the capacity to support the higher education success, health and well-being of current and former foster youth. Up to 10 community college districts will be selected to provide additional funds through a supplemental component of the existing Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) program. US Department of Education - High School Equivalency Program (HEP) waiting for the RFP to be released. The program assists migrant farmworkers and their families attain their high school equivalency and transition to higher education, vocational/technical training, military, or improved employment. The program has been at Hartnell since 2006 and has continually met the target of graduating at least 70% of students every year. US Department of Education - TRIO - Talent Search - waiting for RFP to be released with an expected due date in December. Talent Search, one of eight TRIO programs, assists students between the ages of 11-27 from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. Talent Search provides academic, career and financial counseling encouraging participants to graduate from high school and complete their postsecondary education. The HSI Program provides grants to assist HSIs to expand educational opportunities for, and improve the academic attainment of, Hispanic students. The new grant is for $1.5M over two years and supports a collaborative of key stakeholders committed to increasing and sustaining a "locally grown" and "locally prepared" allied health workforce to supply regional demand by replacing the pipeline to prison with a pipeline to school and career. Arts Place America -Combining grant funds with access to experts in the longstanding field of arts and community development practice to develop a plan that weaves the arts into community-wide planning.
