Salary: $50,000. - $65,000.00 / year

General Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Assistant Project Manager works alongside the
Project Management Team as a direct support mechanism for the day-today processes related to the
management of new and ongoing systems projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparation of spreadsheets, documents, and specialized management reports.

Completion of take-offs and estimates

Pre-bid site walks and surveys

Site visits to evaluate site readiness for Comtel labor resources.

Site coordination for the delivery of materials and equipment to project sites, in support of installation
crews

Direct management of smaller projects, as assigned.

Creation and management of project punch lists

Processing, filing, organization, and follow up to project related documentation, both hard copy and
electronic.

Assist in the processing of project closeouts, including update to pertinent closeout summaries and
warranty tracking databases.

Follow-up to outstanding contracts, change orders, RFI’s, submittal packages, and other related contract
documentation.

Follow-up and expedite material orders in order to ensure the timely receipt of materials in order to meet
related project milestones.

Assistance with the completion and processing of project submittal packages and closeout, as needed.

Completion of daily scheduling, including archival of the daily schedule, and ongoing updates to the
Master Schedule.

Assist in the project billing process, including the completion and submission of appropriate billing forms
and schedules of values (SOV’s) as required.

Update and maintain training records and associate filing.

Meeting notes.

Construction of project schedules, using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.

Coordination and scheduling of internal meetings, as need in support of the Project Management Team.

Coordination with customer for scheduling of work.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:

Business and project cost accounting principles and associate practices, such as project billings, schedule
of values, etc.

Project management and general engineering principles, methods, tools, and practices for planning,
installing and testing of Low Voltage Systems

Server/PC hardware and operating systems.

Network architecture, hardware, communication protocols, and transmission technologies

General building construction and associated trade sequencing required for the construction process.

Modern Low Voltage Systems, such Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Call, Public Address and
Communication Systems.

National/California Building & Electrical codes and standards

Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook
Ability to:

Manage and prioritizing competing demands, in order to meet specific establish deadlines and due dates.

Read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints and construction documents.

Read and understand projects cost accounting reports and data.

Learn and apply company policies, procedures, and standards

Apply applicable laws and regulatory codes associated with the implementation of Low Voltage Systems

Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets

Prepare effective survey reports with findings and recommendations

Use a computer and surveying equipment.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Training:

Industry experience desirable but not required

An Electronic/Electrical Engineering/ and/or Construction Management degree from an accredited
college or university or equivalent

Certifications a plus: Microsoft, Cisco, VoIP/SIP, Autodesk, Card Access & CCTV desirable but not
required.
General Compensation / Benefits:
The Assistant Project Manager is an entry-level position; therefore, compensation will depend on experience.
