Description The California Strawberry Commission (CSC) is an agricultural commodity board based in Watsonville, CA. The California Strawberry Commission is seeking qualified interns to join our Information Systems team and help define and implement an information architecture using Microsoft SharePoint Online. Our Information Systems team supports our organization by providing business services and technology solutions to each business unit to help meet their objectives. We are looking for intern(s) to participate in a team project that will: • Engage with each department to capture business requirements. You will learn the process to elicit a needs assessment from business stakeholders. • Define business requirements necessary for the development of a product or service. You will learn how to effectively describe a business process. • Develop a workflow to create, store, retrieve and publish a product or service. You will learn how to order the necessary steps, people and resources that are required to implement the business process. • Create microsites to facilitate team collaboration. You will learn how to create Microsoft SharePoint sites that aid in effectivity implementing the business process to publish or launch the desired product or service. Interns should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment 20 to 40 hours a week and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of business process, information architecture and enterprise content management systems. Responsibilities You will participate in a special team on a highly valued project core to our business operations. • Discovery of existing business processes and sources of data found in each business unit. • Help business units define what products they produce and distribute. • Design an information workflow to store, retrieve and publish business data. • Build sites and workspaces in SharePoint Online. Requirements You must be a fun and outgoing person who takes pride in their work and is eager to learn and apply your skills to new technologies. You must be comfortable expressing your opinion and contribute positive feedback to group discussion. You must enjoy analyzing and recommending improvements to the business process. Our organization uses Microsoft cloud technologies to achieve organizational success. Competency in Microsoft applications is not required, however a willingness to learn new platforms and apply your skills to our technology choices is a must. The California Strawberry Commission is looking for undergraduate or graduate students in the Monterey Bay area who are majoring in Business Management/Administration, Computer Science, Marketing or equivalent. A successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have experience with working with web content such as documents, pictures and video in a variety of formats. You must be proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe applications such as Acrobat and Photoshop. Additionally, experience with project management using Microsoft Project and Visio or related software is desirable. Experience designing websites in HTML 5/CSS using JavaScript and C# is a bonus and will be considered when choosing the best applicants for this internship position.
