At Stein, our New Year’s Resolution is to reduce energy consumption so that we can be good ambassadors for our planet. Why not make it your family’s resolution too? There are lots of simple, effective ways to reduce the amount of energy you use at home. Instead of turning up the heat on those cold, wintry days, put on a sweater or extra blanket. Ensure that the furnace is checked annually and is working efficiently Windows should be properly sealed. Keeping the curtains and blinds closed at the end of the day also helps keep out the cold. Encourage your children to walk to school. Reduce the amount of recycling and garbage you produce by using reusable containers. Turn off all lights not being used. Use rechargeable batteries. Donate gently used clothing and household materials to non-profit organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul instead of throwing them in the garbage. Thanks for being our ECO partners.
