We have started our Measurement of Academic
Progress (MAP) testing. The testing will be completed by Friday, February 3rd. All our 2nd -5th
grade students will be taking two tests; math and
reading. Since we began using the MAP data five
years ago it has given us very valuable information
that helps our teachers meet the specific academic
needs of their students. MAP results will be sent
home in mid-February. Teachers have already
begun using the new data to help them with instruction for their students!
Kindergarten Information Night
The Kindergarten information Night will be Thursday, February 16th at 6:30p.m. Please pass this information to anyone you know that has a child entering kindergarten next year.

thus far with our school improvement plan. Listed below are our three
academic goals this year:
1. We will increase students’ ability to comprehend text by coaching
students on how to support, analyze, interpret, explain, and evaluate text in all content areas.
2.
We will increase the students’ ability to compute and apply mathematical reasoning by coaching students on how to support, analyze,
interpret,, explain, and evaluate in all content areas.
3.
We will increase students’ ability to develop a well organized multiparagraph essay with support, organization, and focus.
The mission of Community Unit School District 95 is to inspire all students to be passionate, continuous learners and to prepare them with
the skills to achieve their goals and flourish as responsible, caring citizens in a global community.
