The mission of Community Unit School District 95 is to inspire all
students to be passionate, continuous learners and to prepare
them with the skills to achieve their goals and flourish as responsible, caring citizens in a global community.
ISAT Tests
All of our Seth Paine third, fourth and fifth grade students will participate in the Illinois Standard Achievement Test (ISAT) on March 4-8.
We appreciate your cooperation in making sure your child is in school
on those days unless they are ill. Please do not schedule doctor or
dentist appointments on these days. ALL students are required to take
these tests, so if a student is absent they will need to make them up
upon their return. We encourage parents to make sure their child gets plenty of
rest during this week and that they eat breakfast each day as well. Thank you all
for your cooperation.
Student and Staff recognized at Board Meeting
February Student of the Month—Every month Lake Zurich CUSD 95 gives each
building an opportunity to select a student who represents our District’s mission of
“Being a responsible, caring citizen in a global community.” For the month of February, Seth Paine choose 3rd grade student Audrey who is a kind and compassionate friend, who has embraced the challenges of school.
Staff member of the Month—Once a year Lake Zurich CUSD 95 gives each
building an opportunity to select a staff who represents our District’s mission of
“Being a responsible, caring citizen in a global community.” This year we are
happy to announce that we choose Mrs. Colleen Johnson as our recognized staff
member for this year. Her dedication in our District has been impactful on hundreds of Lake Zurich families. Mrs. Johnson has always put her students and
colleagues first. She plans well developed fun units that teach our students
about everything 1st grade. Congratulations Mrs. Johnson!

Other Important News
Science Fair—We are excited to announce that Lake Zurich CUSD #95 will be hosting our
fifth annual Science Fair and Extravaganza on Saturday, April 13, 2013 sponsored by the
LZ 95 Educational Foundation. The objective of this event is to excite our students about
science. Participation is open to all K-8 students in Lake Zurich. For more information
please contact the school office.
Communication Changes—Please notify the school office is you change your phone numbers, address, or
email address. Updated information is necessary for us to stay in touch with you and to keep you informed
about your student and what is happening at Seth Paine.
5 Essentials Survey—This is your opportunity to provide reflective feedback on how your child’s school is
doing. We encourage you to participate in this survey and help improve District 95 schools for our children.
We need at least 50% of our parents to complete this survey. Currently, we have not yet met this goal. If you
have not completed this survey, please take a few minutes and visit the following link to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey.

Board Forum—The Board of Education elections are nearing and the candidates are having two forums that
are being hosted by our District PTOs. The first forum will be next Monday, March 4th at 7PM at Middle
School South. The 2nd forum is on Wednesday, March 13th at 7PM at Middle School North.
