We may share biological families or national identity or cultural and ethnic identity but we are all very unique and distinct creations. God breaks the mold every time. And that is a fantastic fact of life. Sometimes differences are scary, especially if we haven’t learned about or don’t understand how people are different. The virtue of acceptance means that we look beyond what we see, and see a person created and loved by God. God you gave us the virtue of acceptance. Help us to: Parish Mission Statement "As members of the St. John of the Cross Parish Community, we acknowledge that all we are and all we have are gifts from God. We take ownership of these gifts which are time, talent and treasure. We will use them in the service of our community and encourage others in the community to do the same”. Avoid temptation to judge or negatively stereotype Look for positive traits in others Notice who is left out and includes them Stick up for the disadvantaged. Demonstrate an attitude of acceptance, trusting that others will hear God’s voice in their way and in their own time Page 1 of 6 Catholic Education Week “Opening the Doors of Mercy” May 1-May 8, 2016 As always Catholic Education Week begins on Sunday to highlight the parish-home-school partnership that remains the foundation of Catholic Education.
