We Remember….
Principal’s Message
Greetings to all our St. Joseph
Streetsville families! I trust that
you all had a safe and relaxing
holiday.
Thank you so much for your continued support of Catholic Education.
I would like to welcome all St.
Joseph families new to our
school, especially our Kindergartens who will be attending our
Full Day Learning Program . You
will find it a very warm and welcoming community.
I congratulate our students and
teachers who attended summer
school courses to improve their
skills and those who attended
the Literacy and Summer Reading Program provided by Dufferin
-Peel. St. Joseph School is a
place where we can laugh, play,
pray, share the Sacraments,
learn and care for each other
and so much more.

RIP
A warm welcome to J. Sawa who is
back to our school teaching Gr. 8
this year; welcome P. Sergautis in
Grade 7. C. Mondano is new as an
ERW and comes with a wealth of
experience from Divine Mercy
School. Welcome C. Hutchings
who will be working with L. Belsito.
I would like to personally welcome
back some familiar faces: M. Scaffidi inGrade 3/4 and L. Belsito in
Grade 2.
Congratulations to C. Dinis who was
married over the summer and is
now Mrs. Belloumini.
This year we will be focusing on
Literacy and Numeracy and ensuring that differentiated instruction,
assistive technology and universal
design model are implemented to
assist students to demonstrate their
learning. Collaborative Inquiry will
be a school wide focus. In numeracy, teachers will continue their work
with the use of manipulatives and a
focus on problem solving to improve numeracy skills.
At St. Joseph we are committed
to ensuring that our students
learn not only their A, B, C’s, but
also respect for others, appreciation for the diversity among people, and how to cooperate with
friends, peers and colleagues.
The staff and I look forward to
working with you and your children over the next ten months to
provide a highly rewarding year,
both spiritually and academically.
Our goal is to make St. Joseph
School a place where children
are excited about learning,
where excellence thrives; where
Catholic values are lived daily;
where students and staff work
safely and where all stakeholders
take pride.
Wishing you all a wonderful 20152016 school year.
God Bless,
C. Bacci
Re-Organization!!!!
Thanks to our Custodians…..
Our teachers have worked very hard to make class lists - balancing gender, abilities and personalities of students. These lists are
carefully considered and each child is designated a teacher and a
classroom.
Our custodians have been working very hard this summer, especially with the new FDK Classroom Construction. Mr. Alore and Mr. Kippen also cleaned and

SCHOOL COUNCIL & ELECTIONS
We extend our thanks to the parents, non-teaching staff and teachers
who dedicated themselves to the efforts of our School Advisory Council
during 2014-2015. This month, we are accepting nominations or volunteers to serve on the Council for the 2015-2016 school year.
We have some volunteers, but all parents are invited to put their name
forward. If you think of someone who could represent you well, urge
them to offer their name. Be sure to check with the person whom you
are nominating to get their approval. Most Council meetings take place
the second week of selected months at 6:30 PM in Room 1 at St. Joseph
School.. All parents are asked to join the group to offer opinions, give
ideas and learn about the working of the school and education on a larger scale. You are always welcome.

SEPTEMBER Virtue of the Month ~Faith
To begin the new school year, we’ll focus our attention on the first of our virtues –
faith.
Faith is the great virtue of believing in God and trusting that God is with us.
A faithful person believes that we are created, guided by and destined to be reunited with God.
A faithful person believes that God’s plan for us includes the right to be safe, especially at school.
A Faithful person…
Prays regularly and reverently
Learns from Scripture stories
Honours people’s God-given names
Assumes that there is good in everyone
Accepts the God-given worth of themselves and others
