Mr. Keilman's Bio
I have been teaching in Lake Zurich School District for 18 years. I have been the
beginning band director for all elementary schools. In recent years have been the
primary director of the south elementary schools: Isaac Fox, Sarah Adams, and May
Whitney. I also have been teaching 6th grade general music for 9 years at Middle
School South in the fine applied arts team. This year the plan is for me to go back to
dedicating 100% of my time to the band program.
Additional Experience:
Taught in band program at Middle School South through small group lessons and full
rehearsals. I also have previous experience teaching in the jazz programs at Holmes
Middle School in Wheeling and Cooper Middle School in Buffalo Grove. I have also
volunteered my teaching in the Bands of America Summer Music Symposium at
Illinois State.






Education:
BA in music at Western Illinois University 1992; cum laude graduate
Completed teacher certification from Western Illinois University in 1996
MA in music education from Vandercook University 2004
