August 25, 2014 Lieutenant Darren Chambers began his career with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in 1992 as a Detention Officer. In 1993 he was commissioned as a Deputy Sheriff after completing a Basic Peace Officer Academy. He has subsequently held several positions in the Sheriff’s Office; and is currently assigned as the Assistant Division Commander in the Criminal Warrants Division of the Criminal Investigations Bureau. Darren holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Executive Management and Leadership from Kaplan University with highest honors. He completed the Certified Public Manager Program in June 2013 at the Hobby Center for Public Policy. In June 2014, Darren graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy in Quantico Virginia; receiving a diploma and a Certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia. Darren is a Certified Mediator, and volunteers at the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center. He has utilized the skills he learned in the CPM program to be a more efficient manager at the Sheriff’s Office.
