January News 2016
Welcome back! We hope you had a restful Christmas Break with family and friends.
O God, you sent your Son, Jesus,

By his life, He shows us the way to joy and peace,
To justice and righteousness.

GREEN TEAM
In December the Green Team focus was on water. Daily announcements informed our school community about the many
different ways to help conserve water and save our planet. Students are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles to school
instead of plastic ones. The Green Team is still collecting Kool
Aid Jammers and other drink pouches. We are sending them to
Terra Cycle to be “upcycled” and made into a variety of products.
Help us out by placing your drink pouch in the baggie provided
for your class. You can even bring pouches from home if you
want! Let’s work together for a cleaner planet!

to be at school by 6:20 am as busses will depart promptly at 6:30
am in order to get to Snow Valley and be first on the hills! For
students who didn’t participate this time, there is a second date
planned for Friday, March 11. Forms will be sent home in February for any interested students. Thanks to Mr. Gibson for organizing the ski days and helping us learn to enjoy winter.
905 RAPTORS
Students from grades 5-8 who purchased tickets in December will
be attending a 905 Raptors game during the school day! The 905
Raptors are the farm team for the Toronto Raptors and very
skilled players. Students will get to sing O Canada, watch a game
and there will also be an educational presentation. Students come

They are reminded to bring a lunch or bring money to buy lunch.
Looking forward to a fun day with our St. Anne community.
VIRTUE OF THE MONTH
SELF-CONTROL:: God has given us the ability to choose. We
are able to control how we react to what happens around us.
Through prayer and concentration, we can get better at controlling
our reactions. We can get better at showing self-control.
A person with self-control...
· Is patient
· Knows how to wait his/her turn
· Can calm him/herself down and think before reacting to situations
· Knows how to avoid physical aggression (hitting, kicking,
pushing, fighting, etc.)
· Can think things through and do what is best for everyone
When we all use self-control, we can be sure that our school will
be a safe and caring place in which to be and to learn. Please join
us on January 12 for our Virtues Assemblies at 10:45 & 11:15 am.
