“Doing God’s Will Well”
St. Josephine Bakhita ’s Catholic Focus
At St. Josephine Bakhita our school vision embraces that each student is called by name and promotes student achievement. We believe that all students are created in the image of God and we are blessed with the opportunity to help foster their individuality as their diversity is celebrated. We promote a positive, inclusive, caring and safe environment in which students can learn academics, social behaviours and strengthen their relationship with God. We strive to understand their behaviours and all that may influence them. Students are provided a plethora of opportunities to excel through various school activities
(sports, clubs, committees, etc.). The teachers work collaboratively to help devise opportunities for students and to help strengthen each other's instructional skills. Students engage in cooperative learning and accountable talk whilst learning about respect, acceptance and acknowledging other's ideas. We integrate the virtues program into our classroom programs and school wide initiatives to help students embrace these virtues in their daily lives. It is through recognizing that we are all called by name that we promote such a positive school culture.
