Project Goal #2: Track data, RE: current and projected BSN supply and demand – including selected diversity metrics – to achieve 50% BSN by
2020.
Objectives
Action Steps
Increase
number of BSN
graduates, to
achieve 50% of
total workforce
by 2020.
Using available supply data
sources, we will track changes in
nursing workforce data:
 SC Board of Nursing
(2012 RN re-licensure
data became available
12/13)
 SREB – the SC Nursing
Workforce Office tracks
annual student graduation
numbers, enrollments and
faculty data.
 Office for Healthcare
Workforce Analysis and
Planning at AHEC
provides additional supply
data and is developing
new demand scenario
methodology data for the
AC teams as requested.
Diversity
metrics to be
tracked: Race
and Gender.
AC Executive Steering
Committee and AC Team 2 will
set baseline metrics based on the
2012 RN re-licensure data,
beginning July 2013, with set
goals for BSN percentage
increases each July.

Note 10/14 From 2010 to 2012
SC had an increase of 1.3 %
BSN nurses. However small, it is
an increase. In our SC schools
we are not seeing a marked
increase of the number of RN to
BSN, therefore we have
concluded the increase in BSN is
with the online RN to BSN. The
demand survey will be distritued
Nov. 15. The OVOP Executive
Committee has commited to form
