ILP usage in the classroom
Each counselor will develop an email distribution list in
order to effectively communicate to all students. Topics of
the emails could range from announcements about
deadlines (scholarships, GSP, senior items, etc),
opportunities for academic enrichment, parent group
meetings, school contest, and other such items. This type of
system will allow for an additional form of communication.
Remind 101 is a tool to use to send email messages/texts
to student/parent
With the adoption of a school wellness plan, the staff and
students will be educated in the plan and the goals of the
plan. The plan will mirror the district wellness plan and will
ultimately be a plan for life long learning.
Professional Development supplied through staff meetings
and professional development on Domains 2 and 3 of the
Framework.
The goal is to have more departments become aware and
use the student ILP program. College/Career opportunities
will be discussed in various settings and with various staff
members.

This activity was completed during summer PD of 2013. Evaluations
were conducted and plans for future PD was developed based on
responses.
Additional professional development is needed in order for this activity
can be completed.
BCHS plans to continue professional development activities to
increase expertise in this area for all classroom teachers. The use of
Academic Time for the next school year will allow for the use of this
concept.
The literacy rotation for all 9th grade students began with the 20132014 school year. Staff will evaluate effectiveness with upcoming
PLAN scores.
Beginning of 2013-2014 school year all 9th grade students will
experience a literacy rotation course.
This activity continues to be implemented within our school. As
evidenced in our Program Review our faculty has utilized outside
professionals for class time and during extracurricular meetings.
The use of common assessments within departments is in progress
so that data from all assessments can be reviewed.
Each department and some individual teachers have all completed at
least 6 hours of content specific professional development.
During the 13-14 school year the departments have held monthly PLC
meetings. A more organized and detailed agenda will be the next
step for all PLC meetings.
Staff continues to use reports for scheduling purposes and for RTI.
Specific students have been targeted for RTI measures. We are
currently utilizing Ameri-Core individuals that provide this tutoring
along with Barren Beyond the Bell personnel.
This activity was suspended due to the PGES training. Plans are to
reinstate for the upcoming school year.
Work continues with continued emphasis for End Of Course classes.
Counselors are beginning to utilize the report along with CCR status
reports.
Before several administrations of the EPAS system, BCHS has
hosted after school content sessions.
