Acrylic Painting – Thursdays, September 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at First
Christian Church. The classes are open to anyone 12 years old and older who have a desire to paint.
Students will learn basic to advanced techniques and methods of using acrylics. Individual and
directive instructions will be given. Instructor: John Wing Cost: $38 plus $2 lab fee
Basic Computers – Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 21, 23, 28, 30, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., North
Jackson Elementary. Instructor: Ron Bowman Cost: $25
Beginning Digital Photography II – Tuesdays, September 14, 21, 28, October 5, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at
WKU (Glasgow). This class is an introduction to the basics of digital photography. We’ll start with
the ins and outs of the Digital SLR Camera and basic photographic techniques, then onto photo
composition, and conclude with image enhancement, organizing, archiving, emailing and printing
images. Prerequisites: a Digital SLR Camera and a desire to learn. Instructor: Harold Kelley Cost: $40
Beginning Excel – Tuesdays, September 7, 14, 21, 28, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Red Cross Elementary.
Manage numbers, create formulas to do your calculations for you, access files from other programs and
use them. Create forms and ledgers and much more in this basic spread sheet class. Persons must have
basic computer skills before taking this class. Instructor: Tina Wilson Cost: $30
Beginning Sign Language – Tuesdays, September 7, 14, 21, 28, October 12, 19, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at
Barren County High School. This course will cover deaf awareness, alphabet and numerals,
fundamentals of sign language. Instructor: Danny McCain Cost: $40
Microsoft Word - Thursdays, September 9, 16, 23, 30, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Location to be
announced. Learn to master the basics of Microsoft Word in this hands-on class designed especially
for beginners. You'll start with the fundamentals: opening, saving, and creating new documents. Then
learn how to cut, copy, and paste parts of your document; change margins and add tabs; format text to
make it look the way you want; add bullets points; and create outlines or numbered text at the touch of
a button. We will also learn how to enhance your documents with pictures, clip-art, "Word-Art" and
tables. Instructor: Stephanie Prichard Cost: $30
Paying for College 101 –Monday, September 27, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at WKU (Glasgow Campus)
Presenter: Gene Weis, KHEAA Outreach Counselor. This Financial Aid presentation is for anyone
with a personal or family interest in pursuing Higher Education such as university, college, technical,
vocational or trade school. Presentation will involve details on the Financial Aid process (FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid), including information on types, and sources of aid, plus the
time frame, and deadline dates on the application process, etc. FREE EVENT
