Michelle R. Anthony-Richardson PhD, RN Michelle R. Anthony-Richardson began her career in the Department of Veterans Affairs as a case manager in the Mental Health Intensive Case Management program (MHICM) program. Within six months, she volunteered and was appointed Interim Nurse Manager for the program. During her tenure, she successfully brought the MHICM program through CARF survey (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) with no clinical findings in 2012. This was again repeated in the summer of 2015. In June 2015, Dr. AnthonyRichardson was appointed permanent nurse manager for the MHICM program, Mental Health Outpatient programs (MHOP) to include the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). In her current role, Dr. Anthony-Richardson supervises 20 nurses. She collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure practice standards are met while delivering safe and effective care to our nation’s veterans. Dr. Anthony-Richardson earned her Ph.D. in Nursing at the University of Phoenix, Arizona. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Long Island University, New York, and dual Master's degree in Nursing and Business Management in Health Care Management from University of Phoenix. Dr. Anthony- Richardson is a clinical instructor at University of South Carolina and teaches in the school of Social/Health Science and Business at the University of Phoenix. In 2012, she served as lead faculty instructor. She is also a certified instructor at the University of Phoenix. Her nursing career has been dedicated to creating high quality of care and developing the next generation of nurses and health care professionals to lead in these ever-changing times.
