End of Intro Unit Project
Due NO LATER than Tuesday November 24th
This project is designed so you can show your knowledge of our introductory unit. The score of this project will be
combined with the score you earn on the unit test.
You MUST pick at least one option to present your knowledge of the material. If you feel you need to complete more than
one option to make sure you are meeting all requirements of the project you are permitted but please let us know prior to
doing this.
You are permitted to work independently, with a partner, or in groups. Please know that if you chose to work with others
you will all receive the same grade. Also, if you choose to work with a partner or in a group, you are permitted to work
with students from any of Mr. O’Rourke and Mrs. Stonis’ first, fourth, fifth or seventh period classes. We must be
informed of whom you are working with and which period they are in. If you include other students who are not in those
classes they are permitted be part of the project but they will not receive a grade since they are not in those classes nor
have the same teachers.
You will be given TWO work days in class (November 16 and 19) to work on your project. You MUST bring parts or
your entire project to work on it during those two classes. If you would like other time to work, have questions or would
just like to touch base with us about progress on the project; we will be happy to help, but you MUST make an
appointment with us for before or after school.

Option 1- poster:
The poster must be a regular poster size (36x24). The poster must include a title, graphics and written information. The
written information should help support your pictures and describe why you selected them to represent the idea/concept.

Option 2- model:
You determine how you would like to represent the idea/concept in a form of model. This model could be a diorama,

way of playing the cover song. Playing the song on your phone or any other personal mobile device will not be
acceptable.
Option 4- music video:
Take a school appropriate song and create your own music video of the song. You must submit the words, the actual song
and your music video to us. The music video can be uploaded to youtube and you provide us the link, put any playable
video file (wav, avi, mp4 etc) on an usb drive, CD, DVD or any other way of playing the music video. This MUST be able
to be handed over to the teachers in some capacity, for grading. Playing the video on your phone or any other personal
mobile device will not be acceptable.
Option 5- Essay:
You need to compose an essay explaining each idea/concept. This essay must have transitions, paragraphs and organized
ideas.
Option 6- Making a game:
You will take the ideas/concepts and make a game. This could be a board game, card game or any other type of
appropriate game. You must include rules, how to play the game and the material to play the game. All parts must be able
to be transported to school and handed over to the teachers for grading.
Option 7- Other option:
This option is for students who have another idea for representing their knowledge of the material. This must include the
ideas/concepts. Also, if you have an idea you MUST approve it through the teachers prior to completing the project.
