Peter Neurath Young Investigators Symposium
Date:
Time:
Location:
Wednesday, May 4, 2016
1:00 - 5:00 PM
310 Behrakis Northeastern University Boston, MA 02115 The Peter Neurath Young Investigators Symposium was created in memory of Dr. Peter
Neurath, who was Director of Medical Physics at the Tufts-New England Medical Center from
1968 to 1977. Its purpose is to encourage younger members of the community to present their
research to their colleagues. “Young” means anyone in the early phase of their career
including trainees, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, or recent entrants into the field.
Talks will be limited to approximately 15 minutes (12 min with 3 min left for questions and
discussion). If you are currently advising students or post-docs, please encourage them to
present their work.
Interested persons should submit their abstracts (with a maximum of 300 words) to Gregory
Sharp (gcsharp@partners.org) by April 20, 2016. The abstract format should contain four
sections: “Purpose,” “Method,” “Result,” and “Conclusion.”
A winner of the Symposium will be chosen by a panel of three judges based on the following
criteria: clarity, quality and rigor of work, significance, innovation, timeliness, and interest to the
medical physics and biomedical engineering community.
The NEAAPM YIS is an opportunity for professionals in medical physics, biomedical engineering, and related fields to keep up to date on subjects relevant to the field and interact with colleagues from around the New England area. The meeting is intended for physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, biomedical engineers, and related professionals. It is jointly sponsored by the New England chapter of the AAPM and Northeastern University. We have applied for CAMPEP approval of continuing education credits.
