1. Why do you want to go to school in the U.S.?

5. What are the first three words your friends would use to describe you?
6. What do you consider your most defining personal characteristic? Please give an example
of how you have demonstrated this quality.
7. What do you do to relax and have fun?
8. Have there been any big events (a move, a divorce in the family, a difficult relationship,
an illness, etc.) that have had a major impact on your life? Please describe the
circumstances and how you dealt with them.
9. Where have you traveled outside of China? What did you find the most interesting about
each place?
10. Do you have any special skills, talents, interests or hobbies (i.e.: karate, web page design,
dance, etc.)?
11. Have you ever skipped a grade? Which grades?
12. What are your chief academic strengths? Why?
13. What are your academic weaknesses? How do you deal with or compensate for these
weaknesses?
