The accident
Marcy was driving to work. “Shoot,” she thought. “I’m going to be late.” She pressed her foot harder on the gas pedal. A red pickup pulled out in front of her and ambled slowly down the road. Marcy grew impatient and hit her horn. “What the heck?!” she thought. Suddenly, the pickup jammed its breaks. Marcy had no time to react. She slammed her foot down on the brake and threw her arms over her face as her sedan collided with the truck’s bumper. CRUNCH. The sound of metal on metal filled Marcy’s ears. She began to shake and cry. “I guess I’ll be late for work,” she thought as a cop car pulled over to inspect the scene.
