ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Prasad V. Potluri Siddhartha Institute of
Technology is established in 1998 with a
great vision of producing quality technocrats.
The college achieves its dream through
meticulous planning of the administrators and
the strenuous effort of the faculty. The
Institution is succeeded in creating the zeal
for learning in the students. It is permanently
affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological
University Kakinada. As a result of its
continued efforts to attain quality, it is
conferred Autonomous status in 2012.
Certified by ISO 9001:2008, the college is
accredited by National Assessment and
Accreditation Council. The institute attained
the status of 2(f) & 12(B) of UGC act.
The Faculty comprises well qualified
professionals with varied experience and
back-ground. The Institution offers 8 Under
Graduate and 6 Post Graduate Programmes.
The college is marching ahead emphasizing
all-round development of the students since
its inception.
Apart from the academic excellence, the
focus is on co-curricular and extracurricular
activities. Students are trained to transform
into a full-fledged individual by practicing a
strong ethical code.
The college stands as a symbol of
academic excellence. With the departments
headed by the eminent personalities, the
college finds it easy to motivate the students
to gain knowledge in the emerging areas of
technology.
The Department offers Under Graduate
program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
with the intake of 120 and Post Graduate program
in Power System Control & Automation with an
intake of 18. The Department has Twenty eight
faculty members supported by 13 Technical and
Administrative Staff. The Department is
accredited by National Board of Accreditation
(NBA), New Delhi in 2006 and reaccredited in
2012.
The Department is well equipped with Power
Quality Analyser, Mixed Signal Oscilloscope,
LCR Bridge, 6½ Digit Precision Multimeter &
Simulation Softwares.
The Department has received funds from
DST and UGC.
About The Short Term Course
The STC provides a good opportunity to the
scholars / Faculty / Scientists/ Students to know
about the current trends in the Sensors,
Transducers and Its Applications in Industry and
the future scope of research. Industrial
transducers and sensors are accurately measure
hydraulic and pneumatic pressure, liquids, gases,
coolants, fuels, lubricants, refrigerants and much
more. The STC provides a ground to interact with
experts in the concerned field of interest and
mainly focuses on the applications, developments
in the area of various control techniques
employed in industry. Emphasis will be given for
the interactive sessions during the course.
