Plano ISD Students Advance to State MathCounts Competition
Students at each Plano ISD middle school participated in a regional MathCounts competition, with five
middle school teams and/or individuals qualifying for the state contest which was held in late March in
Austin. The MathCounts competition series is the only competition program of its kind, with live, inperson events in all 50 states, as well as U.S. territories and schools worldwide. The competition is
ideal for students who have a passion for math. Students engage in "bee-style" contests, competing
against and alongside their peers. At the local, state and national level, students participating in
MathCounts win scholarships and prizes every year. Congratulations to these Plano ISD state contest
participants and award winners (pictured before heading to the state competition). Students competed
in teams unless specified as individual competitors.
