Competence Distinguish excellence as the standard in teaching and learning. ◊ A part of this excellence is a constant understanding of positive environments and the experience of “infusing” differences. Student Success Uphold a learning environment that enables student to succeed. ◊ In a positive, healthy and diverse environment where everyone is welcomed and each person respects others, how can one not succeed. Personal Growth Value the journey of faculty, staff, and students in becoming more conscious, productive, and contributing members of the community. ◊ Diversity challenges each of us to know ourselves and others better each day. 18 Office of the Vice President of Research and Development Institutional and Community Planning Integrity2 Employ honesty, ethical behavior and professionalism in meeting our mission. ◊ Diversity looks at the inclusiveness of our actions and our deeds as part of the institution by promoting positive attitudes and behaviors that demonstrate respect for one another. Respect Honor and appreciate all capacities of diversity. ◊ Respect is one of the key fundamental elements of diversity. Trust Value relationships based on sincerity, reliability and compassion. ◊ All the EPCC core values generate trust. Diversity can demonstrate that a positive step forward for the above values creates trust. Any positive steps promote trust and this trust, in turn, leads to success. 19 Office of the Vice President of Research and Development
