2012-2013
Employee of the Month was eventually discontinued, since there
were few or no recommendations forwarded. The VV IE Team
agreed to change the celebration to a quarterly event.
Our safety committee successfully developed training for all the
employees and students. It continues to be a priority for Chief
Ramirez.
Improve communication among departments and personnel over
all by sharing information from the department head meeting with
subordinates.
The chair and entire committee agreed to involve Mr. Blayne
Primozich (Chair of District IE Committee) to act as a liaison
between the VV IE Team and our president Dr. William Serrata.
Mr. Torres, the assistant to the head of the Physical Plant, has
done a great job listening to our committee’s suggestions to
improve the disability parking, designated smoking area, and
study areas. With his department’s assistance, the disability
parking is already a completed project, and the other two are
works in progress.
Ensure that Employee of the Month will be in place, but that the
celebration be every three months and that the entire department
promote one of its employees. Create a subcommittee to oversee
the selection.
Our Safety committee was very successful in developing a oncea-month walk through the V.V. campus with Mr. Rick Lobato and
Mr. Rick Torres of the maintenance department on a monthly
basis to point out necessary repairs throughout the campus.
Continue the walks with maintenance personnel to point out
repairs needed at the V.V. campus. For the Chair to get involved
with the District I.E. committee team and bring forward issues that
the V.V. I.E. Team has.
Dean Rodarte headed this effort and has done a great job. A

The cleanliness of our campus still is an issue and is being
addressed by the Physical plant and maintenance.

committee continued their great efforts. V.V. maintenance issues
are a continuing effort. Baby changer in SSB restroom was
completed. Graffiti issues are addressed by maintenance, and It’s
a continuing effort.

Baby changer in bathrooms in building SSC; lighting fixed for
safety measures; flood control (in progress) in SSC building; and
the best accomplishment is having a good working/
communication relationship with Mr. Pascual A. Martinez from the
maintenance department. Also, all the committees have done a
wonderful job. The Hospitality Committee has done a great job
manning the table during registration time and will continue to be
a vital part of this committee.
Continue working with maintenance to maintain the Valle Verde
Campus in tip top shape. A “Welcome Center” and welcome
tables would be a great thing to implement at this campus to
welcome all students and visitors.
