T h e talk, a computation and exlanatlon, rather than an analysis of
the problems, would have proved
both contriversial and enlightening
to the present student - a n e m i n e n t
leaders, practically all of whom were
conspicuous with their r.b- nee.
Drawing on studie.s made bv past
students, Mr. Wheeler brought forth
the conclusions t h a t batters, and
those who "follow" the ICKICIS are
more alike than different; and tend
to show themselves as leaders at an
early age in life, and t h a t they come
from relatively small families and
large communities.
T h e term leader, a curious one,
was dise;ted into many parts by the
students who made observations:
those who are leaders: 'hose who
think they are and are not. and
vice versa: the "foimal leader" elected to office, and the informal leader,
amonw others. These various aspects
of leadership were m e a s u r e d
through the various "tools" available to students of sociology.
It was found that the leaders who
set themselves up as leaders are
