W y e r , director of the N e w York State library at the Education building, has m a d e several a n n o u n c e m e n t s concerning the use made of the borrowing system by State college students, Dr. W y e r writes—"A number of g r a d u a t e students from the S t a t e college w h o appear t o have been teachers at some time, are u r g i n g this standing as w a r r a n t for the issuance of borrower's cards at the State library. W e prefer to regard their present status as that of students at the State college, and do not care to issue individual cards. " W e are suggesting to them, however, that they apply at the College library and that if that can not furnish the books desired w e are perfectly willing to lend to that library, for the use of these students, those that we have available." Miss Mary E. Cobb, College librarian, has announced that the library will co-operate with any s t u d e n t who desires to obtain books. Chemical Association to Have Session in Husted Hall at 8:00 o'Clock The 163rd meeting of the Eastern Section of the American Chemical association will be conducted in room 250 of Husted hall, tonight, at 8:00 o'clock, Professor Barnard S. Bronson, head of the chemistry department, announced today. This meeting, as well as all other meetings of the association are open to the public, and all students are urged to attend, Professor Bronson added. Dr. Hans T. Clarke, professor of biological chemistry, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia university, will address the meeting. His topic will be "Chemistry in Medicine." Dr. Clarke is graduated from the University of London, and received his degree of ScD from that institution in 1914. For many years he served in the capacity of research chemist with the Eastman Kodak company. He is also author of many books and papers relating to chemistry. Opportunity to meet Dr. Clarke will be provided at a dinner to be given at the Cafe Boulevard, Central avenue, at 6:30 o'clock. The meeting of the Eastern Section of the American Chemical association are conducted monthly. Two of these meetings are to be conducted at Albany, in the College buildings, two in Troy, at Rensselaer Polytechnic institute, and the remaining at Union college, Schenectady. State Educators Will Conduct Convention at Bronxville T o d a y and Tomorrow Miss Anna E. Pierce, dean of women, will attend the convention of the New York state association of Deans today and tomorrow, to be conducted at Bronxville. This convention has been designed for educators who are interested in guiding and counciling young people.
