As High Scorers
A r o u n d this time of t h e school
year, practically all of the s t u d e n t s
indulge in an innocent speculation
a s t o w h a t s t u d e n t s will b e elected
to various class, s t u d e n t association, and o r g a n i z a t i o n
offices.
Much of the questioning c o n c e r n s
the selection of M y s k a n i a for next
year.
It seems to lie the most p e r t i n e n t
question on e v e r y o n e ' s lips as the
annual ceremonies of M o v i n g - u p of
M a y 20 a p p r o a c h e s . At this time
the m e m b e r s of next y e a r ' s honora r y society will be " t a p p e d " .
Guesses, w a g e r s , "inside tips",
and logic based on this y e a r ' s most
active j u n i o r s are b e i n g called into
use by those wdio wish t o determine ahead of time the exact m e m bership of Myskania. E a c h year
eleven, twelve, or t h i r t e e n m e m b e r s
arc chosen, but until the actual
c e r e m o n y no one but the retiring
m e m b e r s k n o w s h o w m a n y or wdio
will be "tapped".
Results of student elections and
votes of all sorts including the
high and low major offices, publications elections, and active o r g a n ization elections are b e i n g watched
as indicators of those s t u d e n t s who
m a y be considered. T h e process
consists of selecting a list of students and c o m p a r i n g il with the
final selection with the idea of seeing how close one can come.
