Large and ornamental posters hang in great profusion over the W a s h i n g t o n avenue entrance staircase. They a r e depended from the air by a cord stretched over the steps. E i t h e r t h e posters are too long or the cord is not raised h i g h enough, for persons of ordinary height ca.n almost bump their heads while those of more than average length m u s t comb their hair after passing up or down this staircase, T h e commission has a duly to perform here.
