POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Athletic Information Program Coordinator Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: B JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the promotion and execution of intercollegiate athletic events and maintaining current and developing new athletic programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 40% 1. Identify, develop, write, and edit material for public dissemination, publication, or broadcast relating to intercollegiate athletics. Work with various media entities, external agencies, and departments within the District as needed. Maintain department’s web page. 2. Coordinate, manage, and staff home athletic events. 20% 3. Coordinate the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Letter of Intent and Scholarship Agreement process and Annual Athletic Orientation Programs. Attend, and serves as a liaison in the absence of the director, Western Junior College Athletic Association Conference (WJCAC). 10% 4. Assist with all athletic fund raising activities. Coordinate advertising sales for all outfield signs and media guide ads. 10% 5. Assist in the day-to-day operations including securing trade-outs, budgetary process, and team travel. 10% 6. Skills/Abilities: Human relations skills, ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external entities including all media sources; ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to think and work creatively; exceptional customer relations skills required; leadership skills; public relations skills; effective communication and interaction (both oral and written). 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require some physical effort in work with light (up to 25 lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion.
