POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Director Director, College Accreditation & Compliance Exempt CATEGORY: Administrative GRADE: D JOB SUMMARY: Provide management with oversight of organizational compliance and adherence to accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements as directed by the Vice President of Research and Accountability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 20% 1. Work closely with SACSCOC regional office and the State’s Higher Education Coordinating Board to ensure the College has the most current information on policies, principles and practices. Develop and implement strategies for the District to meet accreditation standards and activities. Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and provide general guidance about minimizing or eliminating the risk. 2. Ensure that accreditation requirements, including compliance with accrediting standards, are incorporated among other institutional goals and objectives, and into the planning and evaluation process of the College. 20% 3. Manage the collection and analysis of information and answer questions regarding the accreditation process. Develop the timelines for completion of all tasks associated with the accreditation process. Ensure that the electronic institutional data collected by SACS is accurate and timely. Manage ongoing regulatory compliance audits and research as requested. 15% 4. Serve as a point of contact and assist the institutional SACS Liaison by providing research, analysis and organizational support for accreditation, including the comprehensive Compliance Report, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring implementation of accreditation planning agendas and recommendations articulating accreditation activities with the district, as necessary. Provide regular progress reports to the President, Vice Presidents and other operational administrators. 15% 5. Implement at the operational level, including but not limited to, tracking and maintaining annual inspection schedules; ensure response deadlines are met; scan, email, copy, and file paper documents. Maintain binders; track and maintain necessary “Report Requirement” system; schedule and organize training sessions; prepare documents; update and maintain Shared Drive documents; track lead compliance documentation; and report directly to VP on compliance and accreditation efforts. 15% Effective: 4/12/13 Page 1 of 5 6. Monitor, research, and report on new State and Federal legislation impacting accreditation and practice. Work closely with the Division of Information Technology to maintain SACSCOC website and Centralized Digital Repository. 10% 7. Perform other duties as assigned. 5% REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Vice President, Research and Accountability SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervisory responsibility of assigned staff. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Departmental Budgets. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Master’s Degree. EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years related experience; with at least five (5) years directly related to regulatory and compliance activities. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Experience and expertise with SACSCOC accreditation process. Strong problem solving and project management experience. Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Effectively use organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow through. Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures, in order to make effective decisions. Ability to maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials. Ability to prepare and deliver information through presentations. Knowledge of EPCC policies and procedures. 2. Equipment Used: Personal computer, fax, telephone, copier and other equipment associated with a general office environment. 3. Software Used: Banner, a variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and presentation software.
