to you
in a trite

can you
believe
the weather that we had during the past
few weeks? From snow to sunny skies
with temperatures nearing 75! Crazy!
“This is for the dogs.” I think that is
the phrase. I tried looking up to see
where this phrase came from, but “ask.

During spring break in particular, the
weather wasn’t the only thing that was
“for the dogs...”
I had the opportunity to read two
books: Marley and Me and To Dance
with the White Dog, both with the dog
as a key character. Then, after working
in the yard for a few hours, I came in
for some lunch and switched on the
television. On the channel was “Turner

Teeka, who is now over 12 years old
and I think has just moved beyond her
puppy stage, joined me. While in the
yard, she didn’t seem to take her eyes off
of me as I maneuvered my wheelbarrow
full of weeds throughout our yard.
Why was I suddenly being surrounded
by dogs?
During my week of dogs, the one
experience that had the most impact on
my thinking and reflection was the book
To Dance with the White Dog. Below
is a comment that I found online.
“Reading this book will help you to
discover your own feelings and beliefs
about real-life issues and it will deepen
your awareness to those around you
who need your love and attention.
When it comes down to it, Sam has
his family and his beliefs. His wisdom
seems to guide him in life and he looks
