B.
Student Support Services
The institution recruits and admits diverse students who are
able to benefit from its programs, consistent with its mission.
Student support services address the identified needs of students
and enhance a supportive learning environment.
The entire
student pathway through the institutional experience is
characterized by a concern for student access, progress, learning,
and success. The institution systematically assesses student
support services using student learning outcomes, faculty and staff
input, and other appropriate measures in order to improve the
effectiveness of these services.
General items:
We have many fewer faculty and staff in students services than we once did;
will need to discuss changes in how services are delivered (e.g., use of
workshops and focus groups in counseling)
How has service to students changed with the move to College Center?
Be aware of the new Veterans Center (old DSPS location?)
Be aware of changing needs if/as international students program grows.
At some point (possibly II.B. 1), will need to explain how students services
have changed to meet needs of DE students. This includes online application,
access to services through email and phone contact, and access to
information and services through student websmart accounts. Check with
