NORTH PENN SCHOOL DISTRICT Administrative Regulations 3802 Reference: Board Policy #3800 BUSINESS AND NON-INSTRUCTIONAL OPERATIONS Transportation Transporting Non-Public Students to Daycare Centers North Penn School District will provide transportation for its non-public students to and from daycare centers. Service will be provided to non-public students using the same guidelines established for public school students. Requests for transportation to a daycare center must be submitted in writing by the parent or guardian of the student to the school the child is attending. Once reviewed by the school principal, that request will be forwarded to the transportation office. Transportation will be provided so long as the arrangements are the same on all school days. For example, one set of arrangements for M-W-F and a different set of arrangements for T-Th will not be allowed. Mid-day pick-ups and drop-offs for half-day kindergarten students will be allowed, provided that the stops are the same on all school days. Daycare centers must be located within the boundaries of the North Penn School District. Daycare center pick-ups and drop-offs will only be allowed within the North Penn elementary school zone in which the student resides. For example, a private school student whose resident address falls within the zone of Kulp Elementary, may only be picked up or dropped off at a daycare center within the school zone boundaries of Kulp Elementary. State guidelines established for walk zones to and from schools, home and bus stops will be adhered to regarding daycare centers. For example, if a daycare center is located within safe walking distance (up to one and a half miles for elementary students) of the school in which the student is attending, then transportation to and from that daycare will not be provided.
