NORTH PENN SCHOOL DISTRICT School Board Policy 4115 PERSONNEL Professional Assignment and Transfer Teaching Load for Secondary Teachers The board recognizes that the number of teaching assignments a teacher has is related to his/her effectiveness as a teacher. It therefore directs the superintendent to provide such scheduling procedures as are necessary to take into account the number of preparations, the nature of the courses, and the numbers of students involved in each teaching schedule. Working through the building principals, the superintendent will assure that equitable assignments are made throughout the district. The board affirms that five teaching assignments are desirable and directs the superintendent to effect such assignments in all instances where in his/her judgment, such assignments are practical. The board does recognize, however, that in consideration of student load, separate preparations, and other assignments, the administration may assign more or fewer classes to individual teachers.
