NORTH PENN SCHOOL DISTRICT School Board Policy 4111.2 PERSONNEL Reference: Administrative Regulation #4111 Professional and Support Staff Posting of Open Positions/Transfers Posting of Open Positions Every effort will be made to consider all employees who may be interested in openings within the district. At the district’s discretion, information on open positions will be posted for at least 5 work days. Posting will be done by the human resources department. Postings will include job title, basic job responsibilities, qualifications required and preferred for the position, job location if determined, and salary range. Transfers A transfer is a change from one type of job to another or from one building to another. Transfers between schools may be arranged when positions are available. Whenever an employee wishes to be considered for a transfer, the matter should be discussed with the immediate supervisor. An employee’s written request for transfer or promotion will be considered only after at least six months employment in a position. There are times when, in the opinion of the department supervisor and the manager of human resources, the best interest of the district would be served by administratively transferring an employee. All transfers require the approval of the department supervisor and manager of human resources. All promotions and requests for transfer will be made on the basis of qualifications and merit as determined by the department supervisor and/or the human resources office. All transfers or assignments of personnel remain within the discretion of management. This policy will be interpreted and applied so as to be in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. It will also be interpreted and applied in a manner consistent with any existing collective bargaining agreement.
