Scope
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this rulemaking is to amend the rule to provide procedures for the filing
and approval of an application for a Florida State Special Number and a Certificate of Compliance for a special
boiler design or construction that does not meet the specific requirements of the State Boiler Code but are not
inconsistent with the intent of the safety objectives of the code.
SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: The subject area is procedures for obtaining approval from the Division of
State Fire Marshal to use boilers that do not meet the specific requirements of the State Boiler Code.
