American Red Cross
Wednesdays, September 3 (Make a Plan); September 10 (Be Informed) 1:00PM
September is National Preparedness Month. This is a two session disaster preparedness education
program. In each session, you will learn about the general messages of the “Be Red Cross Ready”
program and will be given additional education and training that enhances the standard messages to
target the specific and sometimes unique needs of older adults.

This chronic disease self-management program will help you live a productive life while coping with
conditions like diabetes, hypertension,
arthritis, pain and anxiety. These highly interactive sessions focus on building skills, sharing experiences,
instilling confidence, and providing support.
You will learn:
• Tips to deal with fatigue and frustration,
• Effective communication tools with family and health professionals,
• How to evaluate new treatments,
• And more!
A healthy snack will be available and the Café remains open until 1:00PM for those wishing to have
lunch. Space is limited, so register early. Participants who complete My Life, My Health! will receive a

The New American Plate Challenge (NAP): 12 Weeks to a Healthier You will help you to eat smarter and
move more for better health and more energy. Learn the latest in how you can eat a mostly plantbased diet and do fun activities to get to and stay at a healthy weight. The NAP Challenge is based on
solid science and incorporates the American Institute for Cancer Research’s (AICR) recommendation
for cancer prevention and cancer recurrence.
