andheldabriefingmeetingwithCharleneandIsabella.Hewill
updatetheCommitteenextsemester.
o Oneofthegoalsthisyearistogetstudentstothese
conferences.
• OutreachandAwareness-severalprojectsareinprogress.
o ProjectButt:wascompletedbyConservationClub.It
wasasuccess.Wewillfollow-upwiththeeducation
pieceinSpring2016.
o WearemovingforwardontheBeeUSACampusidea
thatPaulbroughtbackfromASHEE.Michelewillpresent
toCabinet.
o Paulhassetupagrouptolaunchanewsletterin
January.
o AspartoftheIPC,Sustainabilityhasawebsite.Itis
developedbutnotlivequiteyet.
o Aquestionwasaskedabouttherecyclingcontainers.
Apparently,thecontainersareseparateinthebuildings,
butthejanitorsplaceallofitinonebin.Thequestionis,
whatishappeningaftertherecyclables/trashis
collected?Follow-upwithMichele.
o HillaryupdatetheCommitteeonthestatusofthe
Districtwastehandlercontracts.Compostingispartof
thenewcontracts,buttheyarestillintheworks.
• ClimateAction:TheCSMplanincludesthisaspartoftheVision
Statement.
o HillaryupdatedthestatusoftheSkylineClimateAction
Plan.Skylinehasnotcompletedtheirsyet,andwe
shouldwaituntilthereisaplanreadyforustoreview.
• SocialJustice-PaulmetwithrepresentativesofDIAGandtheywill
attendourmeetings.

bytheGovernor.CalPersandCalSTRShasdivestedonlyfromcoal
(notallfossilfuels)
o TheCommitteewilldiscussenergyand
divesting/reinvestingasaprojectandthengoforward
witharecommendation.
o Raniprovidedabackgroundpresentationondivesting.
Thepresentationincludedawebsiteshowingwhohas
divested.FoothillCollegeandStanfordUniversityhave
divested,forexample.Therearesomesources
presentedaswell,onthesesites:350.org;and“Dothe
Math”
o TheCommitteediscussedthisforthefullallottedtime.
Thegroupwantstogivethisfullconsideration,buthave
topresentanargumenttotheFoundationandthe
BoardofTrustees.
o Thegroupdecidedtoeducateourcommitteemembers
onenergy,theoptions,followedbyaconsiderationof
divestmentsowecanmakecomprehensivearguments
goingforward.
o Onememberwantedtomakesurewearenotharming
somegoodbusinessesinthecontextofthisdiscussion.
o Raniwillbringareinvestmentpresentationnext
meeting.
Review/UpdatethePlan-Initiativesfor2015-2016
• LinhasintegratedtheIPCGoalsFormandtheSustainability
Committee2015-2016document.
• HillaryreportedthattheDistrictisintheprocessofplanningto
revisetheSustainabilityPlansfortheDistrictandColleges.

• Themeetingsneedtobeheldmoreoftenandnotfittingwell
withtheDivisionmeetingsanylonger.
• SendoutaDoodlePollonmeetingdays.
VII. GoodoftheOrder
• Kurtisbroughtupcarpooling.Thegroupdiscussessomeideas
andexperiences,particularlywithSkyline.Theirprogramhaspiloted
butnotgottenofftheground.Weneedtohaveaconversationandit
isinourplan,butnotprioritizedthisyear.Ideasareashuttlesystem,
priorityparking,anddiscounts.
