All rights reserved. • Presentations can be done in a variety of ways with many different styles. • Several basic ways to present an idea include • • • Speeches Slideshows Videos • These methods have different outcomes and can appeal to different situations or audiences. This influences what information to include. • Are you giving information to a team of professionals? Or will this information be completely new to the audience? All rights reserved. • When you know your audience, you can target the presentation to their needs. • If you were presenting to a group of first graders, you might make the presentation more fun and simple. • If you were presenting to adults, you might make it more informative and serious. All rights reserved. • The way you “hold” yourself is very important. • If you look down a lot, stumble on words, or are hard to hear or understand, this can greatly affect your outcome. • You may be an expert on the subject, but if you cannot deliver the material, it is not very helpful. But good planning and preparation can build your confidence for the actual presentation. • If you are sure of yourself, then it will reflect in your presentation. • Your confidence will impact the audience’s belief in what you are sharing.
