It would be fantastic if electronic access to a journal could be directly implemented to
pubmed. E. g. I search pubmed under my UCL login, and if I find an article that is
available electronically, I could just get it without going through the many steps
necessary now.
Early and late access. Weekend access.
open earlier
The library times need extending for next years students as access to books post
7pm is not possible that is when most of our work needs to get done. If this is
possible then it would be beneficial for everyone
Really want to stay in the library for whole night
There isn't enough space, in my opinion. Often, every spot will be full, and it makes it
difficult to study here. The opening hours aren't ideal for a student either.
Sorry, I have not had need for the library in the past few years.
Opening hours could be longer. Eduroam connection could be better/stronger/faster.
books of recent editions are not always available number of computers needs to be
increased and the space as well more coimputers and access to them ful IoN
students. longer opening hours
Sometimes difficult to find and access remotely. Its really agreeable at all season
except summer when the AC is ways too cold Would be appreciated by IoN students
if open at least on Saturdays.
As a psychologist i wish there were more clinical psychology books and journals
available, the space could be made larger with more quiet study space and
computers, evening opening hours would be of benefit too.
Longer opening hours Heating needs to be sorted, gets quite cold
Would like library access before 0900 Would like to access AAN journal 'Neurology'
& Continuum remotely
I actually do not use the library at all.
Electronic journals remotely: the log in process takes time; the server is not always
working; some journals cannot be accessed (able to access in uni) Library catalogue:
the search is not perfectly accurate; location of books is suggested to show in the
first page of search, rather than click in for details. Number of computers available:
the number is alright but it is suggested to install a basic text editor so users can
record the results of reference search. Library computer sometimes has a more
convenient search than using personal computer.
The printer should be hooked up to UCL printing services so students can use their
printing credits. The computers are not UCL network so students cannot access files
saved on their student drive. This can be cumbersome. Otherwise a wonderful library
with even more wonderful staff. Lovely and helpful, always smiling and willing to help.
Being stricter when people chat in the library (especially visitors or senior users)
librarians coming to our department regularly for research guidance workshops
The library is excellent as it is. In particular the staff are phenomenal.
Question 7

 The library is essential to provide up to date access for my clinical work. My specialty
is a "niche", none of the journals available through the NHS is of much interest to me.
 I have used the library to complete an MSc in MS practice, to research for a book
chapter I co-wrote, to write a journal article for publication, to improve clinical care.
 Only space for private study during work hours
 It has helped me to research rare diseases and formulate clearer screening plans for
patients which has helped save money on unecessary tests
 Excellent e-journal service
 range of books available that helped with prep for clinical psychology doctorate
interview
 Staff helped to lolcate information quickly

 It is close and quiet. I needed a specific print resource that I couldn't find online and
the library had it

academic writing; I would never have finished a recent book chapter on quality
assurance for clinical imaging services without the quiet workspace and reference
materials in the library.
 journal prints available very quickly
 staff are always helpful with prompt response when needed
 The library does not have a contemporary feel and is at risk of being superseded by
online facilities.
 The Library is always hugely helpful providing, in my case, access to the archives
and permission to use this in awarenessraising exercises for the National Brain
Appeal. This helps us ultimately to raise money for Queen Square and the hospital.
 during my research project
 One session with a librarian last year has allowed me to save hours in learning how
to do an exhaustive research for a Review as part of my MRes thesis. During those
months of hard work, the library provided me with a nice and calm environment to
study when the lab was too noisy and my bed at home too tempting. Thank you so
much for that!
 I used several resources and attended the introduction to pubmed and ovid
workshops to support my developement of a new patient pathway in our serivce.

Absolutely wonderful staff. Always helpful and smiling. Any shortcomings of the
library are due to poor administration from above, not the librarians themselves.
The staff are very helpful. The historical displays are excellent an should be
continued
friendly staff, would be nice to have some microsoft applications, but that isn't a
major problem
The staff is excellent; it is just the environment and the resources that are lacking.
