Lawlis 1404 West Hill ~ a n e ' Coleinan, Texas 76834 Executive Order MW-35 Creating the Governor's Former Prisoners-Of- War Advisory Council. in readjusting to their civilian lives; and all relevant state and federal benefits to which they may be entitled; and WHEREAS, the State of Texas is committed to enriching the lives and well-being of all its citizens; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mark White, governor of Texas, under the'authority vested in me, do hereby create and establish the Governor's Former Prisoners-of-War Advisory Council, hereafter referred to as the COUNCIL. The purpose of the COUNCIL will be to advise the Governor of Texas regarding the needs of former prisoners-of-war for the aid and advancement of the well-being of Texas' former prisoners-of-war. The COUNCIL shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by the Governor who shall serve for a period of two years, at the pleasure of the Governor, and who shall receive no salary, per diem or reimbursement for expenses incurred in connection with service on the COUNCIL. The Governor shall designate a chairperson and vice-chairperson from the membership of the COUNCIL who shall hold such positions at the pleasure of the Governor. The COUNCIL shall consist of persons who are former prisoners-of-war and contain representatives of World War 11, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. (b) To study the adequacy of state services which specifically relate to Texas' former prisoners-of-war; and (c) To report to the Governor from time to time regarding the needs of Texas' former prisoners-of-war, along with recommendations as' to how best these needs might be addressed. The COUNCIL shall convene at least semi-annually and at the can of the chair. A majority shall constitute's quorum for the purpose of conducting the business of the COUNCIL. A vote of the majority of the members present shall be sufficient for all action of the COUNCIL. All agencies of state and local governments are hereby directed to cooperate with and assist the COUNCIL in the performance of its duties.
