6104.3 - Employees.
The following policy is established in connection with employee-owned dogs:
1. Dogs shall not be transported in any Forest Service owned or leased vehicle. This
applies to the bed of a pickup or truck as well as the cab.
2. Employees not occupying Forest Service housing year long shall not be allowed to
keep dogs on the premises.
3. The restriction in item 2 above must be included in letters of information sent to
potential summer employees during the recruitment process.
4. It is the responsibility of pet owners living on Forest Service premises to manage pets
so they are not nuisances and do not endanger others. The unit manager has the authority and
responsibility to outline and enforce the pet management policies on these premises.
