Digest:
Extensively revises, reorganizes, and recodes entire handbook. Changes title of Handbook to
Rangeland Ecosystem Analysis and Monitoring Handbook (formerly, Range Analysis and
Management Handbook). Converts the format and style of this Regional Handbook to the new
FSH template using the agency’s current cooperate word processing software.
05 - Removes commonly understood and obsolete terms and adds new definitions of terms
currently used in the rangeland analysis and monitoring process.
10 – Removes text in chapter 10 and reserves chapter code. Direction has been moved to FSM
2290, Region 4 supplement.
20 – Removes old site analysis methodology and includes remote sensing and GIS methods.
30 – Chapter 30 direction has been moved to FSM 2290. Adds annual monitoring for herbivore
use methodologies which was previously discussed in chapter 40.
40 – Removes annual monitoring methodologies and places direction in chapter 30.
