information on a Web site.
1660.04 – Responsibility
1660.04d –Area Director
The Area Director is responsible for:
7. Designating the Area headquarters Public Affairs Specialist as the Web Manager for
the Northeastern Area.
1660.04e – Unit Web Managers
The NA Web Manager, in cooperation with public affairs officers or publishing managers,
Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act coordinators, records management professionals, or
other positions designated by the Area Director are responsible for:
1. Identifying appropriate information to be posted on the Web and managing Internet
and Intranet content.
15. Ensuring that Internet and Intranet content posting comply with NA standards and
policy.
16. Ensuring that authors, contributors and public affairs specialists follow the direction
contained in the current NA supplement to FSM 1600, Chapter 30, Publishing and Related
Activities, to ensure adequate content and policy review at all levels.
17. Assigning work to Web developers according to published areas of responsibility and
task flow.
1660.04f – Unit Public Affairs Officers (PAOs) or Publishing Managers
The NA Public Affairs Director has overall responsibility for approving all Web content.
Consistent with delegated responsibilities for public information, NA headquarters and field
office Public Affairs Specialists will review and approve proposed Web content. They are
responsible for:

6. Ensuring content authors and contributors follow appropriate NA policy for thorough
review of publications, including the direction contained in the current NA supplement to FSM
1600, Chapter 30, Publishing and Related Activities.
1660.04g – Unit Staff
Staff members (authors, Assistant Directors, Publication Control Officer, editors and graphic
designers) have responsibility for:
7. Tracking of approval of web content by following the direction in the current NA
supplement to FSM 1600, Chapter 30, Publishing and Related Activities. The process must
meet the requirements of FSM 1661.
1660.04h – Contributors
Contributors have the responsibility for:
5. Writing material to comply with the requirements of the Government Printing Office
Style Manual, unless it is superseded by requirements promulgated by particular outside
publications, for example press releases written to the Associated Press Style and Libel Manual
or standards set by technical or scientific journals.
1661 – WEB SITE CONTENT
1661.11 – Steps for Clearing Changes to Existing Materials
All changes must be submitted to the Web manager, who will help determine the extent of
review needed, and assign the work to the appropriate Web developer.
