 4. Tracking –
currently being
developed by
DegreeWorks

Tracking is a means by which
every student’s Plan will be
evaluated against what has
been designated as critical. If a
student does not meet a critical
requirement, they are flagged
as “off-track,” and the student is
notified and/or some
consequence is imposed, as
configured by the institution.

Real-time evaluation of
requirement track status
 If a grade is brought into
the audit, it will also be
validated in the Plan
 Modified our audit to bring
in grades if they are
submitted in a partial term.
They will come into the
Plan as well.
Batch tracking will be
available on-demand for term
and overall status

 Increase
student persistence
 Increase graduation rates
 Provide better service to students by offering
courses when the student needs to take them
– not when the department wants to offer
them
 The Provost said so!!
 Extract
Plan data for all students who have
plans that have been approved by an advisor
to create Course Combinations.


Course Combinations tell the system which
courses need to be scheduled conflict-free.
They are the primary way in which we will
represent our students in the scheduling
system.
 This
data is shared with the “schedulers” to
ensure that that sections being offered
represent the student needs for the
semester.
 Use
Plan to identify “critical” courses and
milestones


Courses student must complete in order to be
successful in the major and to stay on-track for
graduation
Milestones: audition, portfolio review, Praxis exam,
grammar test, etc.
 At
designated times, run the tracking program to
determine whether students are in compliance
