UCL CENTRE FOR LANGUAGES & INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION Evening Courses German Level 3 (Common European Framework Level B1) Prerequisite for entry Successful completion of German Level 2+ at UCL CLIE or for learners who have a good basic knowledge of the language or those who have studied the language at A-Level some years ago. Participants should be able to give instructions, describe events, and talk and write about the past, using the past perfect and the imperfect tenses. Term duration 10 x 2-hour classes Progression After 20 hours students may progress to level 3+ Aims and Objectives The aim of the course is to enable students with a good basic knowledge of German to develop the four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) to an intermediate level. Students should be able to communicate in German in most common situations. Cultural awareness will be developed. Language learning skills, including autonomous learning and how to approach authentic material will be enhanced.
