CHECKLIST
 Check video file size and format.

uploading off campus at
www.speedtest.net. Speed less than
1.5 Mbps is too slow and can take an
hour or more or possibly time out.
 Check your handbook for required
file names.
 Use a supported browser:
o PC: Internet Explorer 8.0 or
higher OR Firefox 4.0 or later.
o Mac: Safari 5 or later.

(see reverse for location/hours).
New to the IRC?
Have your Banner ID ready to register.
Check out of kits is for two weeks.
Kits are NON-RENEWABLE.
USING YOUR OWN CAMERA
If your equipment can film video in the
required specs (see next column), you
may use your own camera but tech
support will only be available for the
cameras in the edTPA kits.
VIDEO
RECORDING
VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
Accepted Formats: flv, asf, qt, mov, mpg,
mpeg, avi, wmv, mp4, m4v
Video Resolution: 320 x 240 or
640 x 480 are best (larger will require
compression) SD is preferred over HD.
File Size: 200mb to 300mb is best, 500mb
maximum
Video Clips: 1 or 2 clips are required
depending on your program. Clips should be
no longer than 10 minutes. If doing two clips,
they should be no longer than 15 minutes
total.
RECORDING TIPS
 Make sure you have permission to film
from parents/guardians
 Record a test clip to ensure you can be
seen and heard.
 Sound quality is more important than
video quality.
 Consider background noise: heaters,
fans, computers, etc.
 Consider your light source to be well lit,
but avoid aiming camera at light sources.
 If text on board is needed for the scorer,
make sure it is visible or included in a
separate document.
EDITING CLIPS
IMPORTING
 Create a file in an external memory
source to store clips (flash or hard drive)
 Create a back up copy of the clips in a
secure location.
 Do not store videos on unsecured
computers/locations.
 Videos CANNOT be posted online or
shared publicly.
 Be sure to delete everything off of the SD
card when finished importing.
 Kodak and GoPro both record in mp4
format.
EDITING
 The video cannot be longer than 10
minutes in length.
 The clip needs to be continuous with no
breaks or cuts in it.
 Tech support for Windows Movie Maker
and iMovie are available in the edTPA
tech window and on the Video Editing
page on the EHHS site.
 Do not delete or save over the original
raw video in case you need to re-edit it.
 Make sure to save the clip as an
accepted format.
