Second Meeting of Task Group 1/7 of Radiocommunication Study Group 1 on
Protection of passive service bands from unwanted emissions
Introduction
The next meeting of Task Group 1/7 has been foreseen in the programme of Radiocommunication
Study Groups by the meeting of Study Group Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen in June 2000.
Date and place of the meeting
The Radiocommunications Agency of the Netherlands has kindly offered to host the meeting of the
Task Group (see Annex 1). It will meet from 25 to 29 June 2001 in Maastricht, Netherlands.
Practical information for participants is contained in Annex 3. Services directly connected with
meeting activities, such as delegate registration, document distribution, etc. will be located in the
same building. Registration will commence at 08:30 hours on 25 June 2001. The meeting of the
Task Group will commence at 10:00 hours.
Programme of the meeting
A preliminary draft agenda is contained in Annex 2.

Contributions
Contributions in response to the work of the Task Group are invited. These will be processed
according to the provisions laid down in Resolution ITU-R 1. One copy of each contribution should
be sent to the Director, Radiocommunication Bureau for processing. Contributions should also be
sent to the Chairman of the Task Group and to the Chairman and Vice-Chairmen of Study Group 1.
The pertinent addresses can be found in Annex 4 to this circular. Participants are encouraged to
submit contributions by electronic mail to:

Documents received up to six weeks in advance of the meeting are dispatched, as far as possible,
before the meeting in their original language. Later contributions, received up to seven days in
advance of the meeting, are made available at the opening of the meeting in the original working
language and, if possible, in English. The Secretariat cannot guarantee that documents received
after the seven-day limit can be made available for the opening of the meeting. Resolution ITU-R 1
provides that contributions which are not available to participants at the opening of the meeting
shall not be considered.
Participation
The intended participation of your representative(s) should be advised not later than one month
before the opening of the meeting, by means of the annexed form (Annex 5) (to be photocopied as
required).

Accommodation
Reservation for accommodation have to be made via the annexed form (see Annex 6), which should
be sent, whenever possible, before 25 May 2001 directly to the Venue.
A block reservation of about 30 rooms has been made at the venue; rooms in this accommodation
will be booked according to the sequence of incoming registration forms; once this venue is fully
booked, the surplus of registrations will be booked at other accommodations close to the venue.
Of course, it is free for delegates to arrange their own facilities; however noting the location of the
meeting venue, the use of the block reservation is highly recommended.
The price of a single room (breakfast included) is HFL 170,The price of a double room (breakfast included) is HFL 112,50 per person.
Lunch will be provided by the Radiocommunications Agency free of charge.
About Maastricht
Vaeshartelt Castle Conference Centre is situated on the outskirts of Maastricht, the oldest and most
beautiful city in the Netherlands, with an abundance of outdoor cafes, fine restaurants and pleasant
pubs and bars. The medieval streets and squares within the old city walls are an ideal place to relax
and enjoy yourself, and Maastricht also has a number of exclusive shopping streets. The city’s

theatres, cinemas, imposing churches, architecture, museums and annual festivals also attract many
visitors.
How to reach Maastricht
By train from Schiphol Airport to Maastricht Central Station: approximate 2:45 hours (for train

By public transport from Maastricht Central Station: taxi, railway taxi service, city bus or regional
bus.
By plane to Maastricht Airport (direct or via Schiphol Airport)
Visa
Please contact the Consulate or Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in your country so that
the necessary formalities can be completed as soon as possible. For a personal invitation please

Health
Participants should have an international health insurance in case of emergency.
Weather
During June the temperature in the Netherlands varies between about 20 and 25 degrees C. A light
overcoat is recommended as well as an umbrella as some rain might fall during your stay in the
Netherlands.
